Change or disconnect a custom domain
Use the individual website's domain settings to change its connection. The workspace Domains page helps you find the right website, but a domain change applies to that website only.
Before changing the domain
Check that your website's published Pineapple subdomain opens correctly. Keep a note of the current domain and DNS records, and make sure you can access the DNS provider for the replacement domain.
Plan what should happen to links pointing to the old address. Disconnecting a domain does not automatically redirect it to your new address. If preserving existing links and search traffic matters, arrange the old-domain redirect before retiring it.
Disconnect the current domain
Open Workspace → Domains and choose Manage domain for the website.
In the website's domain settings, select the disconnect action.
Read the confirmation before continuing.
The confirmation states that disconnecting removes the custom domain and its analytics data. Your website remains available on its free Pineapple subdomain, provided its pages are published.
Disconnecting a domain does not delete the website or cancel the workspace subscription.
Connect a replacement domain
After disconnecting the old domain, enter the new domain in the same website's domain settings. Select its DNS provider and follow the current setup steps.
Update the required records at the new domain's DNS host. Wait for the root and www connection checks to succeed, then open the published website at the new address.

Clean up the old connection
Review the old domain's DNS and any redirects you have arranged. Remove obsolete website records only when you are sure they are no longer needed. Preserve records used for email or other services.
Domain registration and renewal are handled by your registrar. Disconnecting a domain in Pineapple does not cancel that registration or its renewal payment.
