Connect a Bluehost domain

Connect your Bluehost domain to a Pineapple website by adding the DNS records shown in that website's domain settings. Domain registration stays with your registrar; the website stays in Pineapple.

Get the required records from Pineapple

Select the correct workspace and website. Open Settings → Domain, enter your domain, select its provider and choose Connect domain. You need workspace owner access and a plan with custom-domain support.

Keep the resulting DNS records screen open. Copy its current values rather than using an IP address or destination from an older tutorial.

Update DNS at Bluehost

Bluehost offers portal and cPanel DNS management. Use the interface that manages the domain's active DNS zone.

For a cPanel-managed zone:

1. In the Bluehost Portal, open Hosting, then cPanel.

2. In cPanel, open Domains → Zone Editor and select Manage for your domain.

3. Edit the relevant record or choose Add Record.

4. Enter the required values from Pineapple and select Save Record.

If your account uses the portal DNS interface, follow the portal guide linked from Bluehost's DNS management instructions. Do not buy hosting just to follow the cPanel path.

If another provider manages your nameservers, make the changes there instead.

Check the connection

Add any ownership-verification TXT record requested by Pineapple. Remove only the specific conflicting website records identified during setup; preserve email-related MX records and unrelated TXT records.

Return to Pineapple after saving the changes and check the connection. Allow time for DNS changes to become visible. Check both the root domain and www version, and complete Finish setup if it is offered.

A connected domain still needs published pages. Make sure your homepage is published, then open the website using the domain.
