Who we build for
Pineapple is focused on established service businesses that need a professional website they can keep updated themselves. Consultants, coaches, and professional services are our starting point.
Conceptual illustration. It does not show the Pineapple interface or a measured result.
Our primary learning market is the United States. Canada and the United Kingdom provide secondary comparisons. A geographic focus helps us make decisions; it is not a claim that customers elsewhere cannot use the product.
The job we want to make easier
A business owner wants to launch or replace a website on a real domain, explain the service clearly, and keep the information current without needing a developer for each change.
There are two common starting points. One owner has an old website and wants a replacement while keeping the domain. Another already runs a business but needs a first serious website. Both need a working route for a visitor to enquire or reach a real booking page.
A reliable enquiry form or a clear link to an existing booking service can serve that job. Booking and customer-management features should be checked against the current product documentation and your plan. Their availability does not change our core customer focus or make Pineapple a fit for every business system.
Where the fit is weaker
Our current focus is weaker for complex ecommerce, custom web applications, or teams that need specialist content-management workflows. An idea with no defined customer or service also needs business work before website work can help much.
This distinction matters for AI. If every request becomes a priority, the product becomes harder to use for the people we set out to help. An agent needs to recognise a request worth recording without treating it as a direction to build.
How we reached this focus
Our internal reviews examine who pays, stays, edits, and publishes. Historical service-business and existing-domain signals informed this choice. Those signals were measured separately; they do not establish that every combination of country, industry, and domain intent has the same results.
Repeated website use supports the job we are building for. It does not establish that a website caused more leads or revenue. Customer conversations and attributable outcomes are still needed for those claims.
We should change this focus when better evidence supports a different customer. A compelling anecdote can start research, but it cannot settle the whole market decision.
Use this in your business
Complete this sentence: “We help an existing [type of business] do [job] when [trigger] happens.” Then add one important limit: “We are not currently built for [excluded need].”
Give AI the same definition you use yourself. Ask it to show which part of a proposed task serves that customer. If it cannot explain the connection, keep the task as a question to investigate.
Read what Pineapple does for the product and customer journey, then how that customer focus shapes our decisions.
