Existing Paddle checkout links
This guide is for a website that already uses Pineapple's older Paddle checkout links. New Pineapple workspace subscriptions use the current billing flow; manage them in Workspace settings → Billing.
Check which payment you mean
Your Pineapple subscription: pays for the website builder and workspace features. Start with Subscriptions and billing.
A customer buying from your website: pays through the checkout provider connected to your button or link. That purchase is managed by that provider.
Recognise an existing Paddle link
The older integration opens Paddle checkout using a seller/vendor ID and a product ID. Its path looks like /checkout/VENDOR_ID/PRODUCT_ID. A test link uses /checkout-sandbox/VENDOR_ID/PRODUCT_ID. The uppercase words here are placeholders, not IDs you can use.
If your existing website uses this format, keep its working IDs and destination while checking the integration. A sandbox checkout is for testing and is separate from the live checkout. Do not replace a live purchase button with a sandbox link.
Check the button and provider account
Open the website in the Pineapple editor and select the purchase button.
Check its link destination. Compare the vendor and product IDs with the existing setup in the seller's Paddle account.
Confirm the product, account and domain are allowed to use that checkout with Paddle.
Save and publish a changed button only when its destination is correct.
Open the published website and check that the button opens the intended checkout. Verify any test payment through the provider's test environment before treating payments as working.
Opening checkout is not proof of a successful payment. Check the provider's transaction record for an actual completed order. Never include secret API keys in a website button or send them to support.
If an old checkout stops working
Check that the button URL has not changed, the expected product still exists, and the seller's account is enabled for that integration. Account approval, supported products and checkout compatibility are controlled by Paddle. Use Paddle's current help and account dashboard for those decisions; the old Pineapple signup and “what can I sell?” articles do not establish current eligibility.
Contact Pineapple support with the public page URL, what the button does and the error message. Share private purchase details only through the relevant provider's secure support channel. Leave working payment links in place while investigating.
Adding a new payment button
Use a current checkout or payment link supplied by your chosen provider and add it to a Button. Follow Connect other tools for visible embeds and website scripts. This legacy guide does not promise that a new Paddle account or newer Paddle integration supports the old vendor/product URL format.
