Add Google Maps to your website
Help visitors find your business with an interactive map on your contact page or location section. Google Maps is available on paid Pineapple plans.
You do not need to set up a Google account, supply an API key or approve your domain with Google.
Add your map
Open your page in the Pineapple editor and add a Google Maps block from Special Components.
Select the map and enter your business name or full street address. Include the street number, city, postcode and country, then check that the pin is in the right place.
Choose the zoom, map type, size and corner radius.
Save your draft, open the preview and check the map. Publish the page when you are ready.
Use a precise address
A postcode alone can point to an area rather than your entrance. For example, use British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG, United Kingdom instead of just a London postcode.
Google chooses the matching place and its information card. Check the result, especially when several businesses share the same name.
Match your page design
Zoom: show the nearby streets or the wider area. The default is 14; the range is 0–21.
Map type: choose a road map or satellite view.
Height: the default is 400 pixels, with a minimum of 200.
Maximum width: the default is 800 pixels. The map shrinks to fit its container on smaller screens.
Corner radius: use 0 for square corners or up to 50 pixels for rounded corners.
Preview and publish
While editing, clicking the map selects the block so you can change its settings. Open the page preview or your published website to pan, zoom and use Google’s map controls.
The same map works on your connected custom domain. After changing the location or design, save and publish again to update the live page.
Questions and troubleshooting
Why is my map empty?
Enter a location and check that your workspace has a paid plan. Clearing the address removes the location. If the map still fails to load, check your connection and whether a browser extension is blocking Google content.
Can I hide Google’s place information?
Google controls the place card, labels and marker appearance. Pineapple does not provide a toggle to hide that card or change the marker colour.
What happens if I downgrade?
The map is hidden on the public website, but your saved location and settings remain. Upgrading to a paid plan restores access.
Where should I put it?
Place your map beside your business address, opening hours and contact details. Keep the address as readable page text too, so visitors can copy it easily.
