When Joseph Castillo—known to fans as JEAC—steps behind the decks, he brings more than a playlist. He brings a journey. A story that started in Mexico, where he first picked up the guitar and piano in school, and now continues on stages across North America, lighting up crowds of thousands.
Since 2016, JEAC has been producing his own music—pulling influences from legends like David Guetta and Avicii while developing a sound that’s entirely his own. It’s energetic, emotionally rich, and shaped by personal stories, the people he meets, and the places he’s lived. “I get inspiration from my surroundings,” he says. “Messages from fans sometimes inspire a track.”
After moving to Vancouver, JEAC did what all determined musicians do—he hustled. He reached out to clubs, played wherever he could, and gradually made a name for himself in Canada’s electronic music scene. His hard work paid off in 2023 when he shared the stage with Alan Walker at the Harwood Event, performing in front of over 10,000 people—an experience he still describes as surreal. He’s also played with Dutch DJ Mike Williams and has released music through Black Hole Recordings, the label founded by Tiësto.
But live shows are just one part of his growing success. Behind the scenes, JEAC’s career is powered by a mix of streaming royalties and something a little more technical: copyrights. As a producer and DJ, he earns when other DJs spin his tracks—a stream of income that’s growing along with his reputation.
Making It Official
For JEAC, going pro didn’t just mean making better music—it meant presenting himself like a professional. That’s where his website came in.
“Anytime I’m talking to a record label or a promoter, one of the first things they ask is if I have a website,” JEAC explains. “It shows that I’m serious about my career.”
Since launching his site, he’s noticed a shift. More gig offers. More messages from fans. More opportunities.
“It’s made a big difference,” he says. “People can find me easily now. It makes it simple to connect, whether it’s for bookings, collaborations, or just staying in the loop.”
