Decision note template
For Pineapple experiments, use the existing experiment register. This template is for a new business adopting the method, or a decision type with no existing owner.
Conceptual illustration. It does not show the Pineapple interface or a measured result.
Decision ID: Date and owner: State: proposed / approved / attempted / verified / failed / inconclusive / superseded Customer problem: Source evidence, dates, and limits: What is observed: What is inferred: Options considered, including no action: Chosen action and reason: Expected outcome: Metric definition and measurement window: Condition for stopping: Required authority: Approval reference, exact revision, destination, and expiry if applicable: Verification method: Review date: Append after the attempt: Actual action and result: Verification evidence: Human intervention: Cost and elapsed/human time, or unknown: What failed or remains inconclusive: Next action and owner: Supersedes / superseded by:
Keep the original expectation. A later result should not change what you claim to have known when you decided.
Example from the FAQ case
Decision: update the existing pricing FAQ. Evidence: the answer could imply a purchased domain, while the source guide separates registration from connection. Alternative: another guide would duplicate the existing explanation. Expected result: a clearer draft. Measured customer result: unknown.
Compare this with the actual decision and output.
