Quick start: build your first website
Start with one useful page. Explain who you help, what you offer and how someone can contact you. You can add more pages after that first version works.
Before you start
Prepare your business name, a short description of your service, the people you want to reach and one action you want visitors to take. Have your logo, contact details and any real testimonials ready if you want to include them.
For example: “I help independent consultants organise their finances. The website should explain my bookkeeping packages and invite visitors to request a consultation.”
1. Create a website in the right workspace
Sign in and select your workspace. A workspace contains your websites, collaborators, subscriptions and shared AI credits. Open Websites and choose New website, then follow the creation flow.
Use a template or the AI starting point offered in the flow. Provide specific business details and review the result before continuing. See Generate your website.
2. Make the homepage yours
Open the website editor. Replace example content with your real service, audience and contact details. A simple service-business homepage can contain:
A headline that says what you do and who it is for.
A short explanation of the result or service you provide.
Your main services or packages.
Real evidence, such as a case study, relevant experience or a testimonial you have permission to use.
A clear contact or booking action.
Start with the main message, then adjust the design. Learn the editor and set your website style.
3. Connect the next action
Check every important button. A “Contact me” button should lead to a contact page, form or another working destination. A booking button can link to your existing booking page.
Use a Contact Form for enquiries or Email Collection for a mailing list. These are different jobs: collecting an address does not automatically book an appointment or send a newsletter.
4. Save and preview
Choose Save Draft, then open Preview Draft Page. Check the main text, image crop, button destinations and narrow-screen layout. A saved draft is not the same as a published page.
5. Publish and check the public address
Follow Launch and go live. Check the plan or setup requirements shown in your account. You can use a Pineapple subdomain or connect your own domain; a custom domain is a separate setup step.
Open the public address after publication and check the page as a visitor. If a destination or page is not published, a working editor preview does not make that public link work.
Get help or find your editor version
Open Help & Tutorials in the dashboard or editor. Get Started Docs opens this documentation; Checklist Tutorial takes you to the website checklist. Restart Onboarding repeats the editor introduction when it is available.
Choose Chat with Us to contact the Pineapple team. Describe what you were trying to do, the website or page URL, the visible error and whether the problem happens in the editor or on the published site. Add a screenshot when it helps. Do not include passwords, private API keys or payment-card details.
The bottom of Help & Tutorials shows the editor version, beginning with v. Include it when reporting an editor issue. Support chat availability is separate from whether an old help article has moved into these docs.
Sign out or check the selected account
Save your draft before leaving. Open Account from your profile icon and choose Log Out. When signing back in, use the account that belongs to the intended workspace.
If a website seems missing, check the signed-in account and workspace before creating another copy. Workspace membership and website leads are different: collecting a visitor's email does not give that person editor access. See Workspaces for the account and collaboration structure.
Where to go next
Use SEO settings to describe the page for search and sharing. Use workspace billing to understand plans, and AI usage to check credits. Add more pages when each has a clear purpose rather than duplicating the homepage.
